Typography by illustrator Andy Smith, lots of nice work on his website and flickr. He’s worked on a variety of book covers, editorial and advertising projects, not surprising considering his super vibrant style! He also sells plenty of nice things in his shop, wouldn’t mind a few of them!

Iron Filings Used To Create Text

Origin of Cool: Unknown

Who thought such a simple idea could be so beautiful. This artwork or typography was created by cutting out rubber magnets and attaching it to a sheet of paper. The iron fillings are then sprinkled over it and the lyrics from the Bonnie “Prince” Billy song Even if Love appears. Just imagine what type of artwork could be made from this technique.
